Another podium for Àdam Raga in the X-Trial World Championship

07/02/2011
The Gas Gas rider finished 3rd in Barcelona in spite of not showing his best riding.

Àdam Raga (Gas Gas) could not close his performance in the 34th Barcelona’s Indoor Trial with such a good results as he had pursued. After a very complicated race, in which he couldn’t manage to be at his best level, he also had to face serious pull-off problems due to the great amount of dust that was over the different sections.

The rider from Ulldecona made a wonderful start but the high difficulty of the sections in Barcelona was soon noticeable. Moreover, Adam realized of the extra handicap that was presence of dust over the metallic surfaces in some sections, where the pull-off problems penalized his riding. In this circumstances, the rider from Gas Gas tryed not to be left behind by Toni Bou and Albert Cabestany who finished ahead of him in the two first classifying rounds. Right at the end, neither Adam nor Cabestany could stop Bou from finishing first with 4 points in front of their scores of 25 and 22 points respectively.

The other Gas Gas rider, Michael Brown, also took part in the race in Barcelona. He didn’t have a good day either. He had to face the same pull-off problems as Adam Raga and was out after the classifying sections.

The next round of the X-Trial World Championship will take place the next Saturday in the Geneva Arena, in Switzerland. There, Adam Raga will try to move up again to the second position in the general standing before reaching the two final rounds in Madrid and Milan.

Àdam Raga

“I’m not happy at all with how the race developed. I expected to do much better and this 3rd place is disappointing for me. The sections were quite complicated especially when we started to find dust over metallic obstacles. I had pull-off dificulties and I finally made too many mistakes. The only good point is that we’ll have another race in less than a week so it is time forget about what happened today and start working to improve our performance in Geneva. There are still three rounds left and although the World Championship is getting difficult there are still three rounds left and so many points to be decided”.
