Adam Raga is left at the gates of the podium in Geneva
14/02/2011The Gas Gas rider remains third in the X-Trial's
championship after a complicated swiss event.
The fourth round of the World Championship
X-Trial, which was held this weekend in Geneva
(Switzerland), was anything favorable for the Gas
Gas rider Adam Raga, who finished just off the
podium after being tied with third place and having
scored only three points more than the second.
From the opening bars of the race it was found
that the complicated design of the zones was
especially beneficial to the championship leader,
Toni Bou, who was the rider than accumulated
less penalties from the qualifying round.
After overcoming some problems in the areas of
the first round, the Adam's fight with Albert
Cabestany and Jeroni Fajardo for the second
place on the podium looked like it might be
favorable, but several failures in the end zones led
to the Gas Gas rider to give three points on
Cabestany and tie on points with Fajardo. In this
situation, the particular X-Trial regulation doesn't
provide special playoff sections and the results are
decided based on what happened in the previous
phases. Thus, a identical computation of penalties
between Adam and Fajardo in both the final and in
the semifinal, handed the podium to second
thanks to his best score in qualifying.
Despite the Adam's disappointment after to have
fallen out of the places of honor in Switzerland, the
rider still third in the world championship and the
objective for the last two races, to be played in
Madrid and Milan, is to regain the second position
at the overall clasification.
