The third place in Milan only served the Gas Gas
rider to equalize points in the final standings.
Adam Raga and the Gas Gas team confirmed this
weekend in Milan the good progress that had
shown in the previous races and they were
finished to a single point of getting the second
place in the Italian podium and, at the same time,
the runner-up of the X-Trial World.
After the great show seen last week in Madrid,
where Adam played the final victory to champion
Toni Bou, the Ulldecona's rider was placed at six
points behind the second in the championship,
Albert Cabestany, which made the fight for the
medal silver in a feasible task if somewhat
complicated in the absence of a single race. So,
the Gas Gas rider began the Milan round
confident of their chances and, despite a difficult
qualifying section, showed a high level of form
with a strong semifinal. The pressure imposed on
Cabestany paid off, and surprisingly it failed to
enter the final four, which multiplied the Adam
options.
During the final sections Raga maintained its high
level after Bou, though, when it seemed that the
second place would remain in Gas Gas, came an
inspired Jeroni Fajardo that surpassed Adam by a
single penalty and relegated him to third place.
This led to a tie on points in the overall standings
which was broken by the best count Cabestany
podiums.
The good performance of the Gas Gas riders was
completed with the young british Michael Brown,
who passed the qualifying round and managed to
get into the semifinals, finishing in sixth place.

"Couldn't be ... I've tried and I've
done everything possible, but I
weighed in excess some
previous poor performance. Still,
I prefer to think that we fought
well and we finished strong this
championship. Now we have to
keep working, because we are
at a very high level, but we have
way to improve and there's only
one way to do: working more
and more.
About the race, the truth is that
everything went pretty well. In
the semifinal I got to give
everything trying to pressure
Cabestany and it worked,
because he finished failing.
However, I didn't expect to find
such an extremely strong
Fajardo. We lacked a little luck,
because the runner-up
depended on this podium and
'Cabes' takes it with the same
points than me, but with a
second place more".
