The Gas Gas rider paid expensive risks to achieve
victory but could be climb to one point of the second.
After the grotesque end of the opening round of
the Trial Spanish Championship, in which all the
TR1 riders, the highest category, were
declassified for not completing the course in the
stipulated time, Adam Raga started this weekend
in Ibiza the turnaround to the renewal of his title of
champion. The Gas Gas rider was third with a
single point of second place after having run
excessive risks while fighting for the victory and be
forced to climb from fourth position.
The balearic career was marked by a particularly
technical and targeted areas, but also by the new
order out that the Spanish Federation introduced
following the time problems suffered in the
premiere race. Thus, TR1 were ordered on this
occasion to open the passage between the
sections and Adam took advantage to take the
lead. However, a mistake in wanting to overcome
an obstacle with maximum points gave the first
place to Toni Bou and Raga fell to fourth place.
The last sections of the race were especially
exciting, with Raga riding at the maximum level
and beating Jeroni Fajardo, but also pushing
Cabestany, which achieved finishing second with
a single point ahead of Adam: 619 points to 618..
Moreover, Pol Tarrés also made a great career,
riding at all times very close to the four men on its
head. The young value of the Gas Gas School of
Champions finished in fifth place with 536 points
total.

"Looking as the race went, and
the level of the zones, has
arguably done quite well. The
end result is not the best, but the
rules of Open Free has these
things: if you risk you can lose a
lot, but, instead, you can earn
very little. In this case I wanted
to risk at the beginning, when
I was first, and I went wrong.
This penalized me much and
I ended up spending of the
fourth. I spent the rest of the
race trying to recover until, at
the end, I finished third, one
point behind Cabestany. It's a
pity no win another step on the
podium for only one point, but
hey, we'll have better days.
About the changes in the
starting order, doesn't convince
me too. The real way to fix the
problem is another. Warm up at
seven in the morning and start
the race with almost no public
doesn't think it's a solution".
