The Gas Gas rider staged a remarkable comeback,
but was conditioned by the easy sections of
Pobladura de las Regueras.
The arrival of the Trial World Championship to
Spain, which was the third grand prix of the
season and the fourth day of competition, allowed
to return to enjoy the best riding of Adam Raga.
The Ulldecona's rider took the second step of the
podium after sign a good comeback and recorded
the best score of the second pass through the
sections.
The Gas Gas rider didn't start too well the race as
the remarkable ease of sections became a burden
hard for recover the two 5 imposed on him in the
first lap, and even more so considering that one of
them was particularly rigorous. Still, faced the
second round Adam convinced of its possibilities
and willingness to improve the fourth place he had
at that time. An excellent riding not only allowed
him to close this lap with only five points if not also
take the final second place. Toni Bou got the win
with 9 points in front to 19 points who totaled
Adam and the 22 scored by Cabestany.
Loris Gubian finished seventh, while Michael
Brown was ninth. Dougie Lampkin is still affected
by discomfort in his foot and didn't participate in
Pobladura de las Regueras. Finally, Carlos
Traviesa was second in Junior and Pol Tarrés
sixth.
With this new podium Raga locks in second place
in the overall standings, ten points below Bou and
pending what happens in the GP of Andorra which
will be held next weekend.
Àdam Raga
"I'm very happy with this second
position, because it's a good
result. Obviously I would have
preferred to win, but it was a
fairly easy trial and recover
points was hard, so I have
conditioned a lot for the two 5
I have scored in the first round,
one very questionable. Still, I
made the best second round of
all, I could comeback and go
from fourth to second. The next
weekend the World
Championship comes to
Andorra, to Sant Julià. It's a Trial
that I like, with many types of
terrain and I think we can
maintain the good level we have
shown so far. It will be important
to get a good result because the
suspension of the GP of Poland
lost a race and this isn't positive,
because with fewer results there
are fewer options to recover
from any mistake. I hope that
finally we will travel to Japan
because some riders will not go
without ensuring the safety...
and losing two days more would
be a serious problem".
