Cervantes and Puy, leading players in the Finnish ISDE

Ivan gets to be runner-up with Spain and finished second at E3. France wins the Women's Cup.
Rain, sand and suffering without respite, these were the three issues that have marked the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) 2011, held this week in Kotka and Hamina (Finland). The Gas Gas riders Ivan Cervantes and Ludivine Puy have been two of the protagonists of the legendary event, the first by returning to this competition by countries after two editions of absence and the second by their status as champion in females.

Cervantes, who this time rode the EC300 seeking to help the Spanish team to achieve better scores in the highest category, made a great career, leading the team of RFME at all times. Finland was the country to beat in each day, with a squad eager to regain the trophy ISDE in home. The knowledge of the terrain has been absolutely important, so that Spain gave good finish at the second place, in the same way that Cervantes found particularly successful for his second individual E3 place. After Finland and Spain, the United States were third on the podium.

Despite the repeat of the victory of the French women's team, in whose formation also rode the Gas Gas rider Blandine Dufrene, 'Lulu' hasn't had much luck. She was the fastest in most specials, but falls, damages and penalties greatly affected it. On the first day he suffered a nasty fall that left battered the radiator of her Gas Gas, and that affected the engine on the second day. Although held on and got it repaired, she damaged several toes of one foot in another mishap and had to endure four days of intense pain.

Ivan Cervantes:

"On other terrain we could make things more difficult to Finland, but running at home and with the rain that has fallen, I think that being seconds is a great result. I'm happy for the team and for my second place at E3. The bike has been fantastic and I felt very comfortable. The truth is that I love the EC300, but now we must prepare to return to the World Championship of E2, because in a few days in Andorra we will strive to recover the first places at the podium".

Ludivine Puy:

"These ISDE not started well and fall of the first day was the first of many misfortunes. Next was the problem with one the foot and the nails that I broke, and the truth is that it was very painful. I really wanted to finish this edition because, even though winning the Women's Cup, I will not keep good memories of Finland. The only positive is that I proud to have endured every day without throwing the towel and be able to return home with the cup".
