'Nambo' triumphs in E3 and Ivan brushed two Scratch wins

The Gas Gas riders were protagonists in Andorra and were on the verge of get a great doublet.
The debut of the Grand Prix of Andorra in the Enduro World Championship has become a talisman for the Gas Gas team that has obtained the best results in all season and has been fighting two days for the victory in Enduro 2 and the Scratch with Ivan Cervantes and in Enduro 3 with Christophe Nambotin. Finally, the Spanish rider has achieved two excellent second places and the French a third place and a great victory.

On Saturday, Ivan was the protagonist during much of the race, leading almost all the stages before Antoine Meo. The world championship leader could do nothing against the Spanish rider until, at the last test of the day, grabbed the first position of E2 and the overall with just over two seconds ahead. For Sunday, the story was repeated in detail, although with Cervantes and Cristobal Guerrero as protagonists. Finally Ivan had to settle with second place while Meo ensured the E2 title by adding a third place..

In Enduro 3, the film followed a similar script and on Saturday 'Nambo' kept a close battle with Mika Ahola until the last Enduro Test of the day. Was there where Ahola consolidated their lead and where Joakim Ljunggren snatched 'in extremis' the second place to the Frenchman. For Sunday, Christophe didn't want any surprises and attacked and controlled both Ahola like Ljunggren to achieve a new victory. In this class, Jordi Figueras suffered more than usual and ended up 11th and 9th.

The Enduro World Championship will end within a month with the Grand Prix of France in Mende.

Ivan Cervantes

"On Saturday I thought that finally had come the day to get my first victory with Gas Gas, but couldn't be for very little. The same thing happened on Sunday, but still, I'm very happy with this two second places in E2 and the Scratch. It's a great result and even more if we consider how we fought and the good times we have achieved. I want to thank my mechanic and the whole team for their support and for the development done on the bike. I'm optimistic to fight for the second place of the World Championship in Mende".

Christophe Nambotin

"I'm pleased with this grand prix, but on Saturday I missed 'feeling' with the engine, because it was new and needed some adaptation. Even so the race was pretty good and I was fighting to win. For Sunday we could improve and finally we achieve the victory. I don't want to set objectives for the championship and even think about the classification, so we'll go to Mende thinking only about winning and to delay as much as possible the Ahola's title".
