The challenge of the Catalan trademark is still in the high-level
competition, now reaching long distance races, too
Marc Guasch and Laia Sanz have recently joined Gas Gas in order
to compete in the international trial, enduro and raids
championships.
Gas Gas, the historical company that manufactures trial and enduro
motorbikes, has made a strong bet for the new season with three firstclass
signings: pilots Laia Sanz and Marc Guasch, and engineer Pere
Ibáñez.
Brilliant world champion Laia Sanz takes the leap to the Catalan
trademark to compete simultaneously in international championships of
trial, enduro and raids. Following to their signings, both Sanz and Guash
have got started, and they are already working at full capacity to get
ready for the Dakar 2012.
This year the Dakar proposes a colossal adventure that takes the rally from the
Atlantic Coast to the Pacific Coast, covering more than 9000 kilometres. The hard
route will take the participants to new defiances, to unknown terrains. The
relevance of this new Dakar can also be appreciated from the the sport format
modification, that will take the pilots to cover the route during 14 days. Under
the unvarying cover of The Andes, that will also become an impressive guide,
pilots will go through the Atacama desert, undergoing also the challenge of the
eternal Peruvian dunes, which will remind the most experienced of the distant
Mauritania.
Registrarion to the contest is open, which makes the race perfect for adventure
lovers. The participation of amateur competitors usually reaches an 80% of the
registered contenders
