Ivan shines with hints of the coming World Championship

The debut of the Spanish championship together the best international riders and Ivan was second in Scratch. Guillaume and McCanney highlighted in E3.
The first round of the Spanish Enduro championship this past weekend in Vinaros (Castellon) assembled an important group of international riders who used this race to prepare for the first World Grand Prix of the season. This was the case with the Gas Gas official team, which not only moved the team to the Castellon coast of Spain but their entire training gala. This indeed not only allowed them to enjoy a big debut of Ivan Cervantes with the new EC450F with Enduro 4T engine in E2, but also the remarkable performances of Sebastien Guillaume and Danny McCanney with the EC300 in E3.

Ivan had a dramatic struggle all day with Johnny Aubert, Christopher Guerrero, Eero Remes, Juha Joakim Ljunggren and Salminen for victory in Scratch, with Cervantes achieving a tight second place behind Aubert and in front of Guerrero. This same fight moved to E2 with identical protagonists. In E3, Guillaume strengthened his debut with the new EC, being second after Ljunggren and ahead of a sublime McCanney. He is the young man from the Isle of Man and European champion in 2011 who was the latest addition to the official Gas Gas team and demonstrated that he intends to be a serious candidate for the World Junior Championship.

In E1, Gonçalo Reis and Josep Rallo finished with an outstanding sixth and ninth place with the EC250F and Jordi Figueras managed to finish ninth in E3. The second spanish race takes place on March 18 in Antas (Almeria), a week before the start of the World Championship in Chile.

Ivan Cervantes

"I can only be happy with this outcome. Starting with this rhythm and feelings are very important and still when we have been fighting with many of the rivals from the World Championship. We have a lot of things to be done, since our new 450 4T is a bike with little time, but this race was almost a test that has shown that we're in good shape. We must continue to evolve, but we leave here full of enthusiasm and desire".

Danny McCanney

"Everything is new for me. Never have I raced in Spain and I am used to the mud and the snow, but I think it has been good. Being on the podium has been fantastic and I hope to do more races here and gain all the experience that is possible”.
