Stage 6: Marc Guasch and Laia Sanz are progressing steadily

Many of the participants in stage six of the 2013 Dakar will recall that many riders have experienced numerous problems during the 438 km special test. But Marc Guasch and Laia Sanz will be remembered with those who have 'survived' today's difficulties with raised stones, followed by dunes, whoops and of course, the dust. In the last stage, Marc did not take risks and stayed behind a group. Now following, he was able to catch his rhythm and finished the special test in 26th place ahead of riders like Jordi Viladoms, Gerard Farres and Joan Barreda, who all had setbacks of every kind. The dense brush and stones have caused the loss of oil and mechanical or technical difficulties in the lives of many of the other participants, and the handlebars of Marc's Gas Gas EC 450 Raid have finished 24 minutes behind the winner, Francisco "Chaleco" Lopez. The Gas Gas rider is ranked 34th overall, just behind his teammate.

Laia Sanz has returned and is perfectly suited to any riding situation and if yesterday was her best stage in Dakar (30th) in a very technical course, today was a day with doses of forces in a long stage that entered the Atacama desert. Nobody is surprised with the pace of Laia, today 32nd best, and she rises in the standings, now in 33rd place, which is meeting the target she had set: improve previous results (39) . The one who seems to have had worse luck is Miguel Puertas, after passing the second control step between the first 60, he has not reappeared in the classification.
