Big victory for Esteban Lanz in the Spanish championship

The official rider of the Gas Gas Factory Pons Team has won the Junior 125 and Junior Open categories in the sixth round of the Spanish Enduro Championship. Podiums also for Arnau Solà in Enduro1 and Danny McCanney in Enduro 3.
The town of Puig-Reig hosted the eighth round of the Spain Enduro Championship, a return to the national competition after a long break, and where the Gas Gas riders have again achieved excellent results. Above all, the Chilean Esteban Lanz, who managed to win in two categories: Junior 125 and also Junior Open, finishing ahead of machines, in theory, more powerful than a modest 125. However, the EC 125 Racing with the South American rider has ridden at the highest level, and with virtually no mistakes, the young member of the Gas Gas School of Champions has won the victory in a close category, confirming his progression as a top rider after an intense season where he has been able to improve his level at every competition entered. Lanz, who has finished in the top ten in several specials scratch, has regained positions in the provisional championship with this result. By contrast, his compatriot Diego 'Toro' Rojas, third in the Junior championship before reaching Puig-Reig, could not score points in this race because of an early fall on a trial which has damaged the bike, leaving him without the possibility of continuing in the competition.

The event was organized by the MotoClub Baix Berguedà and has had a good level, leaving only the weather factor, in which rain fell during the night and early morning, making it likely that the race would become very complicated, but finally the ground has been drying, leaving perfect conditions to practice this bike sport.
However, most riders mounted hard tires on their bikes, hoping it would not rain, and the first lap was a lottery, with very different times in the following runs. Thus, in Enduro3, the British rider Danny McCanney has been one that has had difficulty finding his rhythm and suffered some falls that has caused him to lose some time, finally able to finish in third. Joan Jou has finished behind him and Miquel Garcia has ended in eighth place. In general McCanney is third, although the medal positions are very tight.
In Enduro1, Arnau Solà is still not at 100% after his various injuries this season and has done what he could just finish the test of Antas. Solà was able, however, to complete the race finishing behind the World Championship riders.

The Gas Gas team will return to the National competition in a few weeks, with the running of the Enduro de Porriño (Pontevedra) on October 20th, the final event before the double round at Torroella Valls, which will end the championship.

Esteban Lanz
"It was a great day. Everything worked perfect. I had a time where I did not race well. The bike was great and I felt very comfortable with it. I fell once but did not lose much time. A milestone, my first win, which gives me great motivation to keep going. Thank you very much to the team and everyone who supports me”.

Arnau Solà
"To be the first race that I can participate in after so many days with the different injuries, the result is very good, although physically I noticed the lack of practice".

Joan Jou
"Therace was very nice. Hard, but without being heavy. A complicated rally. And the race has gone against me since the beginning. In the first round I lost a lot of time, besides falling in the stretch. But I've enjoyed it, and when it has gone well, times were good. The result is not too good, but if we look at the plan, we are following the correct trajectory.
I am very happy for the victory of Stephen Lanz, this is the result of the efforts of the entire year."
