A difficult weekend in the Finland GP

A shoulder injury during the practice session forces Dani Gibert to abandon the third round of the SuperEnduro World Cup in Helsinki, Finland. While, after qualifying for the finals, Eloi Salsench has one DNF and two thirteenth places in the final rounds.
Luck turned its back on the Helsinki SuperEnduro Grand Prix. A difficult weekend for Gas Gas team riders who were present in the third round of the World Cup in Finland, which ended with the forced abandonment of Dani Gibert due to an injury and two thirteenth position finishes for Eloi Salsench in the finals.

An incident during the second practice session prevented Dani Gibert from taking part in the race. The Gas Gas Factory Pons Team rider dislocated his shoulder and traveled to Barcelona to undergo medical tests. While his teammate of the brand, Eloi Salsench, was able to qualify for the finals. The Gas Gas Racing Pons Team rider was unable to complete the first of the finals after breaking his steering, but he completed the following two with a pair of thirteenth place finishes, clawing six additional points in the world standings.

The rider from Santa Margarida i the Monjos traveled to Barcelona, where he will undergo medical tests to know the real extent of his injury and the estimated recovery time, which depends on his participation in the next Grand Prix events in Mexico and Brazil, planned for February 21st and 28th consecutively. Meanwhile, after the Finland SuperEnduro GP, Eloi Salsench will now focus his sights on the preparations for the World and national 'outdoor' enduro championships.

Dani Gibert: "This was a race I want to forget, I have almost had no time to get used to my bike or the circuit. In the second practice round, after a jump, there were some ruts and I landed crooked. I have not fallen, but only a moment later I noticed that I had hurt my shoulder and that something was wrong. It's a shame, it was a unfortunate, and has left my shoulder where, long ago, I had also been injured. I have put the shoulder back into place, but it hurt a lot and the medical services have told me that it was impossible for me to race. It's a shame because I have went quite well in the championship, seventh, with options to improve slowly and having a good 'feeling'. Now I have to go home and pass the medical review, I have to do an MRI and see what is the medical diagnosis. I hope it's not much and that I can recover for the next tests in Mexico and Brazil."

Eloi Salsench: "We came to Finland with the desire to do well. The circuit was very fast, "ENDUCROSS" type, and rather benefited the American riders who were here. There were many jumps and it was very fast, and I have not found myself too comfortable in it. However, I managed to qualify fourth in training. In the first race I have broken my steering stem and I had to abandon the race. Then we had very little time to make the repairs and I had to start at the back and I was very nervous, and no time to rest. I went out last in the start, one of the aspects that I need to improve upon. I have gained, but a further fall again delayed me. In the third, there has been an accident at the start. I've been entangled and I had to once again climb from the back positions. Now it am thinking of the national enduro championship, which is in about a month and I will focus upon getting the bike ready for both domestic and the World enduro championships."
