The Gas Gas Factory Pons Team riders are ready to face the World Enduro challenge

Jonathan Barragán and Diogo Ventura are highly motivated in the run up to the first Race of the 2016 World Enduro, the GP of Morocco. The Gas Gas Factory Pons Team riders are prepared to fight for the World Enduro championship in the respective E3 and Junior categories.
The countdown for the start of the World Championship is under way. The Moroccan GP, this weekend (9th and 10thApril), is effectively the starting point for 2016. A competition that is going to be launched in Agadir with the major novelty being the newly created Enduro GP category –wich was the old Scratch, a timed stages classification. Everything is in place for the Gas Gas Factory Pons team riders to start again in the World Championship.

Jonathan Barragán will be fighting for a place amongst the E3 heavyweights, the top category in the World Championship. The rider from Madrid have already demonstrated last year that he was among the best riders with the powerful Gas Gas EC 300 Racing, after taking a podium position in both the Chile and the Spanish GP.

This is my third Enduro World Championship and I think I now have much more experience in this speciality than before. Now I am much more familiar with the motorcycle and the team, which has always given me full support right from the beginning and Diogo and I get on like a house on fire. E3 is a difficult category, with really good riders, but I feel really great with the new Gas Gas EC300 Racing and we are starting the World Championship with loads of enthusiasm, prepared to give it everything we’ve got”, revealed the rider from Madrid already in Agadir together with his team familiarising himself with the area.

On the other hand, Diogo Ventura is facing his final year in the Junior category. The Portuguese rider starts off the season with his eye on the Enduro Junior (EJ) podium, the category for the fresh enduro talent under 23 years of age. Just the same as last year, Ventura keeps working together with his Gas Gas EC250 Racing in an open category with regard to engine size. “I feel great with this motorbike and I believe we have reached the perfect moment although we keep on working to get even better. The Junior Category has always been a complicated one where new riders appear, who sometimes are unknown to us. It is going to be a hotly disputed World Championship with close differences. My aim this year is to get on to the podium, so we are going to do it as often as possible”, exclaimed the young Portuguese rider who is going to compete next week at home in the Portugal GP being held in Gouveia, very near to Gois, his home town.

Morocco opens the calendar of eight competitions for the 2016 World Championship, which this summer is coming to our country. The town of Gordexola will host the sixth competition with the Basque GP 2ndand 3rd July.
