Ivan adds a new podium and consolidated his third
place in E2. 'Nambo' ends the year without luck.
The french town of Mende has become a talisman
for Ludivine Puy after reaching there the second
world title of Women's Enduro. The Gas Gas rider
once again proved its supremacy in a weekend in
which Ivan Cervantes joined the party of the brand
with a new podium in E2, which allowed him to
consolidate his third place in the championship
final clasification.
'Lulu' was plethoric with this new crown and even
more so given the harsh terrain, the high technical
level of the specials and the battle with his great
rival, Laia Sanz. For his part, Ivan returned to give
their all against a hardest Antoine Meo and 'Pela'
Renet supported by their public. Despite the
unfavorable that were the tests for the 2-Strokes
engines, was always very close to the head
thanks to a perfect race, in which even managed
to score several partial 'scratch'.
Christophe Nambotin (E3) couldn't complete the
Gas Gas podium because of a wrist injury on
Saturday wich was prevented from leaving the
next day. Still added a new second place in the E3
World Championship. Jordi Figueras showed their
caste and on Sunday relieved 'Nambo' infront of
the upper class, getting up to 7th place after
finishing 9th the day before. In the hotly contested
Junior class, Josep Rallo suffered greatly during
the initial journey, but he could remedy the
situation and up to 18th place in the final day.
After this great year, Gas Gas is working to
present an increasingly powerful training ahead of
the 2012 season, a goal that will continue building
in the next two weeks in the final of the
championship of Spain.
Ludivine Puy
"It was a great weekend. Really
it wasn't an easy race because
there was much time between
races, it had a lot of pressure,
and so takes a bit to find a
rhythm. Despite this we did a
good job and I'm thrilled. I really
get this second title is a dream
and more if we seeing that the
participation and the level of my
opponents is growing. I hope to
continue in this line on next year
and add many titles to my
honors and to Gas Gas".
Iván Cervantes
"We knew there wouldn't be an
easy race, the terrain didn't help
and the French riders would run
at home. Still, I'm very happy.
We don't made mistakes, the
bike worked perfectly and we
achieved the goal of being on
the championship podium. The
second part of the season was
perfect and the team's work has
taken a leap forward, so that
only the high level of Cris
Guerrero has prevented us from
being runners-up. I'm left with
the desire to get a win, but there
will be time to do".
