The Gas Gas rider and his new TXT Raga showed
their best level in Breal-sous-Montfort and he is
now second in the World Championship.
Last weekend Adam Raga and the Gas Gas
Team showed again his competitiveness getting
back to the top of the podium in the 1st of the twoday
French Grand Prix. After the not so fortunate
German round which took place a week ago, the
rider from Ulldecona was determined to short the
disadvantage with the only possible strategy: fight
for the victory from the very beginning.
On Saturday, after a very close 1st leg in which
Raga and Bou ended level on points. The Gas
Gas rider pushed hard in the 2nd pass through the
sections. This time he got only 22 points, whereas
Fajardo got 24 and Bou 27. On Sunday the key
was on the 1st pass through the sections. Raga
wanted to keep the high pressure that had made
him 1st the day before, but his great effort brought
several mistakes when riding to the límit for which
he was penalised. Thus, the 20 points of Sunday’s
1st lap were too many for recovery on the 2nd
pass. By means of a great performance he could
finally get in the podium after Bou and Albert
Cabestany. With this results, the rider or Gas Gas
is now 2nd in the general standing of the World
Championship.
Dougie Lampkin, still suffering the effects of the
ankle injury he brought from the Scottish, could
not take part in the Bréal-sous-Montfort event.
Michael Brown was 7th on Saturday and Loris
Gubian came up to the 6th place on Sunday.
Finally among the juniors, Pol Tarres was 2nd on
Saturday and Pere Borrellas achieved the 3rd
place in the podium on Sunday.
Àdam Raga
"I’m particularly happy. This
weekend we showed that Bou is
not unvincible and that with the
right pressure he can also be
beaten. The truth is that on
Saturday it was incredible.
Everything turned out just fine.
The key was not lowering our
guard at any time. On Sunday
though things got a bit more
complicated. The same pressure
we sustained the day before
brought us mistakes in the 1st
round and I soon got penalised
with many points. Nevertheless
I’m very satisfied because we
gave a great impression and all
mistakes were due to extreme
double-side situations in which
the chances were getting zero or
five points. This win encourages
us to keep on progressing.
We’re on the right track. This
was a great debut for the new
bike apart from the the 1st
Reiger’s win. For all this I wish
to thank everyone for their work
and support".
