Great Britain, with Lampkin and Brown, was second
and Grattarola and Italy took the third position.
After the excellent performances from Adam Raga
on the final leg of the Trial World Championship,
the Gas Gas rider gave another example of his
fine form leading the Spanish team to achieve a
new victory in the Trial des Nations (TdN) this
weekend in the Italian city of Tolmezzo..
While this race doesn't set an individual winner,
Adam was the one who set the reference to
throughout the day and was also the best final
score of the entire Spanish team, which was
accompanied by Toni Bou, Albert Cabestany and
Jeroni Fajardo. The RFME quartet (38 points) won
without much difficulty the British team, with
Dougie Lampkin -most recovered from the ankle
injury that prevented him play much of the World
Championship-, and Michael Brown. The two Gas
Gas riders and their colleagues Jack Challoner
and James Dabill (117 points) outscored the
young Italian squad (159 points) leaded by the
also Gas Gas rider Matteo Grattarola in the fight
for second place. Loris Gubian and the French
team couldn't do anything to finish on the podium.
Norway was fifth, and Japan was sixth. With this
victory in the TdN, Spain's team now has eight
consecutive victories and a total of 18 wins since
the birth of this competition.
After this last international event of the season,
Adam Raga and the rest of the Gas Gas team will
prepare with optimism the end of the outdoor
Spanish Championship and the start of the indoor
national championship (CETI).
Àdam Raga
"Although sometimes it may
seem that these races are easy,
the truth is that they never are.
Some editions are less
complicated than others, but it's
never easy to win. I'm very
pleased by both the team and
also for my personal
performance. I think we worked
well and I have felt very
comfortable. I think we should
be satisfied by the end of the
season we are doing but we can
not relax. Not still finished the
championship in Spain, also the
CETI, and very soon we will
meet again with the indoor
World Championship, so we
must continue working growing
stronger".
