Coinciding with the beginning of 2011, Dougie Lampkin has become a new member of the Gas Gas family after signing up the contract that will keep him attached to the Spanish firm for the next three seasons.
The twelve times World Champion (7 outdoor and 5 indoor) begins a new exciting stage of his sport career that will let him keep involved as an official rider of this speciality both in the British and in the international competition. At the same time, he will open a new period in another speciality in which he has showed surprisingly successful: the indoor and extreme enduro.
Lampkin, who’s now 34, will perform in an outstanding tandem with Adam Raga in the trial, coopering with the Catalan rider and the firm’s technicians in the developing of the brand’s new products. At the same time he will join the new powerful enduro team, which already has among its members the five time World Champion Ivan Cervantes.
Last weekend’s Sheffield international indoor trial, in Great Britain, was Dougie’s debut with the new TXT 280 Pro. This event let see Adam Raga at second stage of the podium, right behind Toni Bou. Lampkin, still not fully adapted to his new bike, could not get a place in the final play-off. On the other hand, his debut with the new EC 300 is scheduled for February 6th in Barcelona, in the second round of the Indoor Enduro World Championship. As it happened in the Genoa on November 27th, the indoor enduro and the X-trial will share the billboard.

"This is a very exciting opportunity for me. I'm glad of having accepted it after feeling Gas Gas' real passion and interest to include me in its team. I'm positive that I still have my chances in the trial World Championship and among my aspirations are winning at least on more Grand Prix. I'm really confident that I can ride at the top level and also cooperate in the development of new models as the firm has asked me. As far as enduro is concerned, the 2 stroke Gas Gas bikes are among the best and I think they will work really well in the indoor and extreme competition. Although so far I've had some good results, I will be able to improve my performance thanks to the EC benefits. This is going to be a very intense year and I'm really encouraged to achieve my hundredth win, to win the hundredth edition of the Scottish and also to win as many enduro races as possible".
